Home Design - What’s it all about.
When it comes to designing a home many people think mostly about painting the interiors and arranging the furniture so that the interiors look new. But truly speaking “home design” involves many things than just interiors. I would classify the whole process of home design into two basic parts as follows.
1) Exterior Home Design
2) Interior Home Design
Let’s have a look at some of the common things you can go about in both these categories.
1) Exterior Home Design.
This includes everything and anything that goes around the home building (including the building) that can increase the aesthetical and utilitarian value of your home building.
Things like exterior painting or wall sidings, repairing or installing new roofing materials, pathways to move around, artificial lighting in the garden, lawns and gardening, accessories such statues, patios, garage buildings, play areas for kids, swimming pool (if required), etc.
2) Interior Home Design
This includes wallpapers, color schemes, furniture and their layouts, lighting, curtains, upholstery, carpets, picture frames, other accessories such indoor plants, indoor fountains, statues etc.
So home design in itself is a wide area that needs to be worked out step by step and with enough planning. If you are thinking of designing you home, I suggest you first break down the whole process into two parts as mentioned above and it will be much easier to come up with a whole executable plan that will save your time as well as money.
